John “Jack” C. Wiese, 78, of Lebanon, PA, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Lucielle (Ens) Wiese, with whom he celebrated 51 years of marriage on Dec. 7.
Born in Rahway, NJ, on Nov. 26, 1947, John was the son of the late John E. and Jean L. (Wyckoff) Wiese. A 1965 graduate of Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School, John later attended Union College in Kentucky, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. He dedicated his entire professional career to the insurance industry, working for multiple companies over several decades and always valuing the friendships he formed in the office and while traveling around the country.
John spent his childhood and much of his adult life in New Jersey. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting in his younger years. He especially loved living in Hardwick, NJ, where he could enjoy his property, tend to a large vegetable garden, and watch the wildlife right in his backyard. He was an avid collector of firearms, coins, knives, and antiques, always eager to learn the history and craftsmanship behind each piece and to share that with others. He also cherished the time he spent coaching his son in sports. A proud patriot, John strongly supported the military and law enforcement. His chair was his command center for staying informed on current events, always watching Fox News. One of his greatest gifts was his sense of humor—he loved telling jokes and making others smile. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his son, Jonathan C. Wiese, and his wife, Karen, of Frederick, MD; daughter, Kim A. Jones, and her husband, Lee, of Lebanon, PA; cherished grandchildren, Lucy Ann, Lily, and Caleb Wiese and Abby Jones; brothers, David Wiese, of Myerstown, PA, and Douglas Wiese, of Virginia Beach, VA; sisters, Suzanne Seilus, and her husband, Richard, of Broadway, NC, and Patricia Freeman, of East Stroudsburg, PA; brother-in-law, Richard Gromek; sister-in-law, Johanna Gromek, of Linden, NJ; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Elguicze; and nephew, Andrew Seilus.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the USO in honor of John.
