John M. Beard, 66, of Jonestown, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at MS Hershey Medical Center.

John was born in Lebanon on June 16, 1956, to the late William H. Beard, Sr., and Helen M. (Young) Beard.

He was a 1974 Cedar Crest High School graduate. He was a local entertainer and loved to play his guitars, sing and listen to music. He was in several local bands in the ’70s and ’80s. Peace Train, Free Wheelin’, Wanda Taylor’s band, and Harry Mann’s band, to name a few. He was also a DJ spinning tunes at Weddings and private parties.

Surviving is his sisters, Jeanne Wollyung and her husband Ed of The Villages, Florida, Sue Lane and her husband Fred of Cleona, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, William H. “Bill” Beard, Jr.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, from 6 PM-7 PM at Kreamer and Lum Funeral Home and Crematory, Camp Meeting Road, and Route 72, Jonestown. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Lebanon or a local charity of your choice.
