John R. Resanovich Sr., 93, of Lebanon, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Olga L. Resanovich.
John was born in Lebanon on Feb. 17, 1933, to the late Milan and Mildred (Suder) Resanovich. He was a 1951 graduate of Hershey Industrial School. This was the last graduating class with the title Hershey Industrial School, then it became Milton Hershey School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. John was an industrial representative for Met-Ed.
He was a former member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Lebanon. He was a member of Jaycee’s, the Navy Club, Friendship Fire Company, and the Milton Hershey Alumni Association. John was very proud to be an ambassador for Milton Hershey School. He had a true love for Milton Hershey and everything to do with Hershey. He was able to meet Milton Hershey and go to breakfast with him. John loved all things Eagles and Penn State, also having met Joe Paterno. His hobbies included golfing, reading, working in his yard, and tinkering with items in the garage.
Surviving are his daughter, Dawn Resanovich, and her husband, John Levengood Jr., of Lebanon; granddaughter, Stacie Heuyard, and her husband, Bryan, of Lebanon; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, John Resanovich Jr.; grandson, John Resanovich III; and siblings, Nicholas Resanovich, Bertha Yandrich, and Anna Peiffer.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 235 Maple St., Lebanon. All who wish to attend are welcome to line up at the office at the entrance to the cemetery.
