John Richard “Pete” Emrich, 77, of Lebanon, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Judith A. “Judy” Emrich, who passed away in 2023.

Pete was born in Lebanon on June 9, 1948, to the late Richard and Pearl (Peiffer) Emrich. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a laborer at Bethlehem Steel and worked in security at the Navy Depot. Pete was an avid drag racing fan for most of his life. He also enjoyed cars and ice hockey. He was affectionately known as “Papa John” to those who were near and dear to him. He had a daughter, Tiffany, who was the light of his life. She passed away in 2019, and Papa John carried on her memory with him until his passing.

Surviving are his son-in-law, Robert T. Bare, of Lebanon; grandchildren, Matthew Bare and Zachary Bare; brother, Paul E. Emrich; and nephew, Jason Emrich. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tiffany Bare.

A graveside service and military honors will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 10 a.m., at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Road, Annville, PA 17003. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Lebanon Valley Rail Trail, L.V.R.T., P.O. Box 2043, Cleona, PA 17042.
