On June 14, 2025, Jonathon “Jay” Paul Minnich, of Grantville, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 74.
Jay was a long-time member of East Shore Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and terra keeper and played drums with the worship team. He was constantly helping others in any way he could. Through God, he was able to touch many lives.
Jay found joy in life’s simple pleasures: quiet times reading his Bible, a good book, lively debates, a Green Bay Packers game, playing tennis, searching for antiques, and making music with friends.
Jay’s presence was bold and full of life. His smile and wit were contagious. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, creativity, joy, and an unwavering devotion to his family. He will be dearly missed by not only his family but also his whole community.
He is survived by his loving wife, LuAnne; step-mother, Louise Seidenberger; sons, Jonathan Minnich and Daniel Minnich (Cassandra); sisters, Pam Irizarry (Albert) and Kym Steinberg (Nick); step-daughter, Amanda Spurlin (Shane); and grandchildren, Allie Spurlin (Dalton) and Elijah Spurlin.
He was preceded in death by his father, August (Gus) Seidenberger; and mother, Joanna Minnich.
A celebration of life service will be held at East Shore Baptist Church on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 11 a.m. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Jay to East Shore Baptist Church’s missions ministry at 6721 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17112, or 717-657-0614.
