Joseph C. Hefferon, Jr., 80, of Jonestown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Margaret M. Schulze Hefferon. They recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.

Born in Orwin on May 28, 1941, he was the son of the late Marjorie Koppenhaver.

Joe served his country in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Wengert’s Dairy after over 30 years of service. Following retirement, Joe enjoyed helping at the American Legion Post #883 in Jonestown. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Mark, and his wife, Allyson Hefferon, of Jonestown, and Brian, and his wife, Julia Hefferon, of Ono; grandson, Sean Hefferon, with whom he loved spending time; and sisters, Brenda Fischer and Sandy Bucher, both of Lebanon.

Graveside services with military honors will be held on Thursday, Jan. 6, at 10 a.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
