Joseph Viera, known to his friends and loved ones as “Duke,” passed away on Sept. 19, 2023, surrounded by loved ones in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.
He was born on Monday, Oct. 14, 1963, as a twin with Jenny Viera in Manhattan, New York, to Joseph Viera and Carmen Viera.
Duke leaves his love with beloved wife, Eulalia Barreiro-Viera, and all six of his children, Candice Santiago, Jonathan Viera, Michael Anthony Viera, Hilda Velazquez, Iesha Garcia, and Krystalee Velazquez; his older sister, Rosie Viera; and his seven grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his daughter, Cheshnia Diaz.
Duke was known as the life of all parties. He was funny, kind, outgoing, respectful, and enjoyed living life to the fullest. He also loved working with his hands, from construction to helping his brother-in-law on several vehicles to making big breakfasts for his big family. He was deeply loved by family, friends, and his community.
Viewing and service will be held at Bethany Mission UMC at 510 N. Hanover St., Lebanon, Pennsylvania 17046 on Friday, Sept. 29. Viewing starts at 3-5 p.m. and service starts at 5-6 p.m.
