Joseph W. Werni, Sr., of Jonestown, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at his home. He was the husband of the late Dorothy M. Boyer Werni.
Born in Lebanon on November 3, 1937, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (maiden name) Werni.
Joseph had worked as a welder and had worked for the former Bethlehem Steel, Cleaver Brooks, and Dana Corp. He enjoyed watching NASCAR.
He is survived by his children Marie Leed of Jonestown, Todd T. Hartlieb of Jonestown, Timothy T. Hartlieb of Lebanon, Joseph W. Werni, Jr., of McEwensville, and Joel D. and his wife Angella Werni of Galeton; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son Kevin L. Boyer.
A viewing will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home, Jonestown, followed by a graveside service at the Salem Evangelical Cemetery, Ono.
