Josephine A. Rank, 80, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at her home. She was the wife of the late Thomas R. Rank.
Born in Middletown on February 23, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Martha J. (Gesford) Dove. She retired from the NL School District in 1991, where she had worked as the head custodian at Fredericksburg Elementary. She loved playing softball. In 2003, she was in the senior Olympics with her team, playing at the VA Beach Naval Base. She also played for G & H Trophy. She enjoyed woodworking and had a landscaping business for seven years. She also enjoyed watching Penn State Football, Philadelphia Eagles, and Joe Montana and the 49ers. For 22 years she drove bus for Northern Lebanon School District and along with her husband they owned and operated Rank Transportation. For many years they had the Fry Wagon at the NL and A/C football games. She was also a foster parent for eight years.
She is survived by her sons Clinton M. Jr., and his wife Susan Zohner of Lebanon and BJ Zohner and Chantelle Gerhart of Fredericksburg; her daughter Julie wife of Richard Bliesath of Fredericksburg; brother Harry S. Dove of Mt. Wilson; sisters Geraldine M. Flory of Palmyra and Linda L. Hill of Pine Grove; grandchildren: Caitlyn Frey, Megan Hartman, Remi Zohner, Epiphany (Derek) Shay, Sierra (Josh) Mauldin and Easton Zohner; and four great grandchildren: Brooke, Logan, Nova Faye, Cedar Mauldin and Auria Lynn Shay.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Rich, Harold, Eddie, Bob & Jim Dove and sisters Betty and Bonnie.
A memorial service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025, at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. A visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
