Julie A. Smith, 55, of Lebanon, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024, at her residence. She is survived by her loving husband of over 26 years, William P. Smith.
Born in Lebanon, PA, on Dec. 29, 1968, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Grace M. (Bender) Hinkle.
Julie received her MBA from Binghamton University, Binghamton, NY, and her BA from Cedar Crest College, Allentown, PA, in theatre and English. She was a member of the Woolwrights Hooking Guild in Lancaster, PA, a member of ATHA – Association of Traditional Hooking Artists, and was a featured artist in the Susquehanna Folk Music Society. She enjoyed rug hooking, writing, reading, cooking, and baking.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, is four siblings, James E. Hinkle, husband of Darlene, of Cape Coral, FL, Jean M. Watson, wife of Frank, of Lebanon, Jeffery L. Hinkle, of Lebanon, and Joan L. Johnson, wife of Mitchell, of York; and four nephews, Timothy Hinkle, his significant other, Nichole, and his son, Silas, Jason Watson, his significant other, Sherry, and their children, Blaze, Myles, Aubree, Olivia, and Ava, Brian Hinkle, his wife, Kendra, and their daughter, Isla Marie, and Stephen Hinkle, his wife, Dr. Elizabeth Brigham, and their son, Wesley.
A celebration of life is being planned for a future date in March or April.
