Julie Ann Maurer, 76, of Palmyra, formerly of Cleona, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, at Traditions of Hershey.

Born in Annville on Feb. 18, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Betty) Rice Maurer Rhine, and her husband, Allen G. Rhine (stepfather), and Harold W. Maurer (father), sister of Edward A. Maurer Sr., and aunt of Edward A. Maurer Stahlnecker.

Julie is a 1966 graduate of Annville-Cleona High School and graduated from Kendall Beauty School in 1968 with her operator, manager, and teacher licenses. She proudly owned and operated Julie’s Beauty Salon in her Cleona home for over 30 years and was a hairdresser for more than 44 years.

Julie loved her dogs, traveling, dancing, crocheting, and, most of all, her family and friends.
“And if you need to see me, close your eyes or look in your shadow when the sun shines. I’m there.”

She is survived by her son, Paul Maurer, and his wife, Michelle; granddaughter, Ava; grandson, Zachery; and numerous extended family members.

A memorial luncheon for Julie will be planned for October.
