Karen K. Marks, 73, of Lebanon passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at home.
An Independence Day baby, Karen was born in Hershey on July 4, 1948, to the late George E. and Doris (Reidle) Tshudy, and was a 1966 Hershey High School graduate. She married her high school sweetheart, William P. Marks, and they had recently celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. She dedicated herself to raising her sons and providing a loving home for her family and was an awesome wife and mom. Later, she worked as a lab attendant for Penn State Hershey Medical Center and became a ‘second mom’ to many of the students there.
She retired with her husband, Bill, in 2010 and enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, and spending time with her family – especially her grandchildren. Her steadfast presence at every activity her grandchildren were involved in – from cheerleading to gymnastics to tennis to recitals – is fondly remembered by all. She was a people person at heart and her infectious smile was a wonderful gift that lit up every room she entered. She spread joy wherever she went and only had kind words and encouragement for everyone – especially her grandchildren, who adored her.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her sons, Gregory P. Marks and his wife Kristin, of Allentown, Douglas W. Marks and his wife Maureen, of Harrisburg, and grandchildren, Alexa, Julia, Kerri, and Natalie.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to WellSpan VNA Home Care (Hospice Division) at 1503 Quentin Road, Lebanon, PA 17042 in remembrance of Karen and in gratitude for the loving support and assistance they provided.
