With great sorrow, we announce the sudden passing of Karyn Butterfield, 53, of Pine Grove, on Dec. 8, 2024.

She enjoyed reading, working out, hiking, and long motorcycle rides with Carey. Karyn loved beach days and girl time with her sister and nieces. She was also a social member of the Union Fire Company and Social Quarters of Bethel. Karyn graduated from ELCO High School in 1989. She was an alumna of PACE Institute and Florida State at Jacksonville. Karyn was truly gifted with numbers and worked her entire career in the accounting industry. Her real passion and philanthropy was the rescue and fostering of homeless animals. Karyn’s unwavering dedication saved many lives.

Karyn is survived by the love of her life, Carey Strubhar; mother, Barbara Adrian; father, David Butterfield; sister and brother-in-law, Kimberly and James Greenawalt; and nieces, Jenavive and Jillian.

The farewell will be on Dec. 18, 2024, at Christman’s Funeral Home in Lebanon. Visitation begins at 5 p.m., with service to follow at 6:30 p.m.
