Kenneth G. “Ken” Leibensperger, 86, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at his home. He was the husband of Violet L. (Kessler) Leibensperger. Their 54th wedding anniversary was March 2nd.

Born in Lebanon on August 2, 1935, he was the son of the late George and Emma (Irwin) Leibensperger.

Ken worked as an explosive engineer and retired from Schlouch, Inc., in Reading. He was a member of the St. John’s U.C.C. in Fredericksburg, where he had served on the Consistory and as an Elder. He was a WW II buff. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, his dogs, feeding and watching birds, and especially going out to eat with friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Gary (Debra) Leibensperger of Schuylkill Haven and Kevin Leibensperger of Fredericksburg; daughters Karen (Walter) Flowers of Lebanon, Jamie (Phillip) Brabson of Wintersville, OH, and Denise (Lee) Flanick of Fredericksburg; brother Frank Piper of Colorado; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother Garnet Piper and sister Georgette Dissinger.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at St. John’s U.C.C., 141 W. Main St., Fredericksburg. A time of visitation will follow the service. Interment at Union Salem Evangelical Church Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
