Kenneth Guy “Ken” Reed, 86, of Myerstown, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, at Lebanon Skilled Nursing and Rehab. He was the husband of Jeanette S. (Stickler) Reed, with whom he celebrated 67 years of marriage.
Ken was born in Lebanon on June 8, 1938, to the late Elmer and Hilda (Raber) Reed.
He was a 1956 graduate of Lebanon High School. He worked briefly at the former Bethlehem Steel and then as a carpenter for Ira Stickler and Son Contractors. In the 1980s, he and his wife started their own business, Stickler’s Custom Millwork. Ken’s custom millwork skills can be found in many churches, hospitals, and some homes in Lebanon County and surrounding areas.
He was a member of Lebanon Bible Fellowship Church. Ken enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and bird watching. Ken and his wife were avid fans of the Hershey Bears and were season ticket holders for over 40 years.
Ken’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family. He was called “Pap” by grandchildren, Jennifer Caster (Kevin), Karen Neufeld (Dan), Christi Wagner (Bart), Kristen Hess (Erich), Jason Reed (Kristan), Corey Miller, Jordan Reed, and Jennea Spade, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his sons, Mark Reed (Jill) and Stephen Reed (Donna), all of Lebanon.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor Seaman.
A funeral will be held on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024, at 12 p.m. at Lebanon Bible Fellowship Church, 1635 Mill Road, Lebanon. Interment will be in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville. There will be a viewing from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the church.
