Kenneth M. “Ken” Bashore Sr., 100, of Ephrata, passed away at his residence on Friday, Dec. 1, 2023. He was the husband of the late Betty A. Bashore, who passed away in 2007.

Ken was born in Palmyra on June 3, 1923, to the late Jacques M. and Deborah (Rhoades) Bashore.

He was a 1941 Palmyra High School graduate. He was a WWII and Korean War veteran, having served with the U.S. Army as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 and retired as a guided missile mechanic. Following that time, he served in the Coast Guard Auxiliary for 44 years. He was a member of various clubs, including the VFW, The American Legion, The Loyal Order of Moose, and AMVETS. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, and playing cards.

Surviving is his children, Darlene Pierson (George), of Salisbury, MD, Karen L. Bauler, of North Port, FL, and Kenneth M. Bashore Jr. (Margie), of Ephrata; nine grandchildren, Milne, Bob II, Lisa, Dana, Becky, Laura, Bobby, Larry, and Cherie; 19 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Jay Bashore, Glen Bashore, and Jacquelyn Rodkey.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 11, 2023, at 12 p.m. at Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, with military honors. There will be a viewing from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. at the funeral home.
