Kenneth P. Hetrick, 77, of Grantville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024, unexpectedly at his home. He was the husband of Linda K. (Herr) Hetrick. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this past May 17.

Born in Lebanon on March 28, 1947, he was the son of the late Herman P. and Anna R. (Grubb) Hetrick.

Following high school, at age 19, he was drafted to serve in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was deployed to Vietnam from 1967-1968 in the 11th Armored Cavalry (Black Horse), HOW BTRY, 2nd SQDN. After coming home, he continued to work at Hershey Chocolate Company, and he entered the National Guard Reserves and served until 1981. He retired from Hershey Chocolate Company in 2009, where he worked as a mechanic in the Kiss Department. He attended the God’s Missionary Church in Lebanon. He was a member of AMAC and the 11th Armored Calvary’s Veterans of Vietnam and Cambodia. He enjoyed working in the woods and tinkering and fixing just about anything. He especially enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his integrity, diligent prayer life, and his devotion to the Lord. He never knew a stranger and often shared his faith and love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Tiann K., wife of Jamie Rutt, of Elizabethtown, Aaron P., husband of Julia Hetrick, of Nashville, TN, Nina C., wife of Wayne Briggs, of Eldridge, IA, Daniel R., husband of Tracy Hetrick, of Franklin, TN, Gail V., wife of Jeff Martin, of Grantville, Kenneth H., husband of Lindsey Hetrick, of Bentonville, AR, Rachel E., wife of Benjamin Biggar, of Grantville, and Anna M., wife of Christopher Osborne, of Round Hill, VA; sister, Suzanne, wife of Pete Spitler, of Lickdale; 27 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, with two more on the way.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Julius Hetrick; and sister, Shirley Bonavitz.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, at the God’s Missionary Church, 2127 Hill St., Lebanon. A viewing will be held beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the start of the service. Interment with military honors will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Grantville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lebanon God’s Missionary Church’s Benevolent Fund.
