Larry A. Warner, 75, of Hummelstown, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024. He was the husband of Marcie Warner, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.
Larry was born on Jan. 17, 1949, in Hershey to the late Roscoe E. and Bertha (Funk) Warner.
He was a 1967 graduate of Hershey High School and went on to receive degrees in design drafting (Penn State) and industrial arts education (California University of Pennsylvania). He taught for many years in the Derry Township School District and continued his work with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections at their training academy in Elizabethtown.
Larry enjoyed telling people that he was enjoying the best job (retirement) in which he spent free time helping others with his skills in plumbing and general home maintenance. He was an usher for the Hershey Theatre and many community theaters, was a Eucharistic Minister at his church, and loved to travel, especially cruising. He was a devoted, loving cat dad to Kit Kat and Juan and their many predecessors.
In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by his daughter, Mary; sister, Gloria (Albert) Casciotti; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Parlak and Gloria Warner; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Jean, and her husband, Ed Huff; and brother, Ronald.
In lieu of flowers, please choose to donate to Loving Care Cat Rescue or another animal organization, Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Harrisburg, or a community theatre in Central Pennsylvania.
