Leroy D. Umbenhauer, 82, of Myerstown, died Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at his residence. He was the husband of Sonia K. (Bugg) Umbenhauer. They celebrated 33 years of marriage on March 22, 2021.

Born in Lebanon, on August 23, 1939, he was the son of the late Harry and Mildred (Hibshman) Umbenhauer. Leroy was employed as a machinist at Arrow International for 38 years. He enjoyed motorcycles, loved going to the Big Diamond and Grandview races, playing guitar and singing, polishing and cleaning his vehicles, and mowing his lawn.

In addition to his wife, Leroy is survived by daughters, Ann, wife of Chris Allwein, Sherri, wife of Fred Howdyshell, Stacey Jovalusky; sons, Dale, husband of Jolene Umbenhauer, Tom, husband of Vickie Umbenhauer, Dave Umbenhauer; a sister, Shirley, wife of Monroe Krall; a brother, Harry, husband of the late Judith Umbenhauer; grandchildren, Judd, Andrew, Donnie, Danny, Kendra, Anthony, Melody, Jordan, Jared, TJ, LeeAnn, Blake, Avree; great-grandchildren, Keegan, Lilith, Noah, Dawson, Lily, Bailian, Alayna, Shanna, Isabel, Ashton, Adalyn, Ryker, River, Zayla, Zander, Jasper; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Umbenhauer.

A memorial service will be held Friday, September 17, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, preceded by a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family.
