LeRoy E. Brandt, 96, of Annville, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Columbia Cottage in Palmyra. He was the husband of Elaine N. (Kern) Brandt, with whom he celebrated 72 years of marriage.
LeRoy was born in Myerstown on Dec. 2, 1927, to the late Edgar and Ferne (Carpenter) Brandt.
He was a flour miller for Brandt’s Mill in Annville following his service in the U.S. Navy. LeRoy was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Annville, where he served on the property committee for many years. He was a member of the Annville American Legion from 1945 until his passing. He had a love of woodworking, fishing, exercising, and boating. LeRoy enjoyed his time with his family, and nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his children, Martin “Marty” Brandt (Patricia), of Annville, Cynthia Heisey (Michael), of Harrisburg, Timothy “Tim” Brandt (Audrey), of Cleona, Susan Shetter (Frederick), of Waynesboro; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his nephews, David Brandt and Randy Brandt; and niece, Marie Miller.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, David Brandt and Kenneth Brandt; and infant brother.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 200 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be in Mt. Annville Cemetery. There will be a visitation time from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church.
