Linda Lou Wolford, 83, of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025, peacefully at her residence.

Born in Lebanon, Linda was the daughter of the late Michael Daniel and Emma Catherine (Hain) Strouphar. She was a 1959 graduate of Lebanon High School. She worked in clerical positions after graduation, including at Fort Indiantown Gap, where she and her husband, Paul LeRoy Wolford, met. They divorced after 25 years of marriage. She was a special education teacher’s aide at Ebenezer Elementary School from 1972 to 1988. She loved children and spoke often about the meaningful connections she formed with many of them. She retired from the Greater Lebanon Refuse Authority after 18 years as the office manager/administrative assistant, where she used her organizational and planning skills in multiple ways.

Linda was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was very active over the years with the women’s group and served on the church council, in other leadership positions, and on various committees. She briefly attended Living Waters Chapel in the late 1980s before returning to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. In addition to loving children and having a strong faith, Linda loved animals, especially her 20-year-old cat, who passed in April. Her hobbies included playing cards and games, cooking and baking, gardening, crafts, and spending time with her family and friends. Linda loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor. She and her memorable laugh will be missed.

Linda is survived by her children, Debra L. Wolford, and her wife, Shelley Riser, of Harrisburg, and Michael P. Wolford, and his wife, Carol, of Lebanon; grandchildren, Daniel Wolford, and his wife, Marta, Cara, wife of Chad Soles, and Brianna, wife of Shawn Toth; great-grandchildren, Abigail and Grace Wolford and Emery Soles. While Linda was an only child, she is survived by many cousins with whom she was particularly close and thought of as siblings. She is also survived by extended family members and friends. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed many memorable moments with them throughout the years.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 723 Lehman St., Lebanon, PA 17046. Interment will be held privately. A visitation with Linda’s family will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of her service at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at the above-listed address in her memory.
