Lloyd J. Reigel, 93, formerly of Ono, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at StoneRidge Towne Centre, Myerstown. He was the husband of the late Grace D. Beard Reigel.
Born in Rutherford Heights on April 9, 1929, he was the son of the late Raymond and Bertha Eshenhour Reigel.
Lloyd was the owner and operator of the former Reigel Texaco Station in Ono for 34 years and retired in 1991. He also worked for E. Hanover Twp. for 14 years; and for four years, he delivered parts for Smith Auto Parts in Jonestown. He was an active member of the Ono United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee, a choir member, and a member of the bowling team. He was a charter member of the Ono Fire Co and served as the chief for 30 years. He was also a member of the Bellegrove Fire Co. and a charter member and former president of the Jonestown Lion’s Club.
He is survived by his son, L. Jerry Reigel, Jr., of Lebanon; daughters, Jane L., wife of Daryl Emrich, of Harpers, and Jean M., wife of Rev. Lawrence Richard, of Ono; sisters, Mary Jane Eaken, of Bernville, and Janet Yiengst, of Jonestown; grandchildren, Jeremy (Pamela) Richard, Jeffrey (Sheri) Richard, Jeanette Shuey, Loretta (Ryan) Longenecker, Lorraine (Vincent) LaPorte, and Jessica (Charlie) Grimes; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Mabel Reigel, and brother, Richard D. Reigel.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Ono United Methodist Church, 9 Main St., Ono. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at the Salem Evangelical Cemetery, Ono.
