Lois J. Arnold, 79, of Lebanon, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021. She was the wife of Rev. Barry J. Arnold. On Oct. 5, 2020, they celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary.

Born in Lancaster on Feb. 26, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Lester R. and Martha S. Snyder Hess. For many years, Lois had worked as a nurse at Cornwall Manor and the former United Christian Church Home. She was a member of the Lebanon God’s Missionary Church and was very active at the church while her husband served as the senior pastor. For many years, she was a Sunday School teacher, conducted Vacation Bible Schools, and was the church pianist. She was always an encourager and mentor to mothers and women in need of love and counsel. She was a “grandma” to many of the children in the church and was known to have a purse full of goodies and toys.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Thomas E., husband of Yolande Arnold, of Lebanon, Daniel B. Arnold, of Womelsdorf, Nathan J., husband of Heidi Arnold, of Selinsgrove, and Matthew L., husband of Lorinda Arnold, of Jonestown, daughter, Dorcas R., wife of Philip Bishop, of Sylvania, GA, brother, Dale E., husband of Kathy Hess, of Orrville, OH, sisters, Joyce, wife of Rev. Daryl Kuhns, of Middleburg, Donna, wife of Dan Fritz, of Middleburg, and Karen, wife of Kent Brown, of Hobe Sound, FL, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Joshua Arnold, Jordan (Katie) Arnold and Tommy, Grant and Ellie, Joslyn (Darren) Habecker, Brooklyn, and Hailey, Janessa Arnold, Brandon (Brittany) Arnold and Aiden, Derrik and Makaela Arnold, Johnathan (Lexi) Arnold and Adam, and Blake, Braxton, and Brynlee Bishop, brother-in-law, Lester (Jeanie) Arnold, of Jonestown, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Larry L. Hess, and in-laws, John and Mary Arnold.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, at the God’s Missionary Church, 2127 Hill St., Lebanon. A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will follow at Wenger’s Cemetery, Jonestown.
