Loretta M. Brewer Swope, 86, of Lebanon, passed away on Monday, Jan. 13, 2025, at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry T. Brewer, who passed away in 1993, and her second husband, Kenneth L. Swope Sr.
Loretta was born in Newmanstown on Aug. 24, 1938, to the late Warren E. Gromis and Mary B. (Gundrum) Gromis.
She was a sewing machine operator for Binner Associates. She was a member of St. Daniel’s Lutheran Church in Robesonia. Loretta and her husband, Harry, shared a ceramic shop, where he would pour the molds and fire the kilns while she painted and glazed the ceramics. They also enjoyed camping. Loretta enjoyed bus trips, traveling to different states, and going to her son’s cabin with her late husband, Ken. She loved spending time with her family. More recently, Loretta enjoyed coloring adult coloring books making beautiful pictures treasured by those she shared them with.
Surviving are her children, Beverly Graham (companion, Chester Kirchman), of Myerstown, Theresa Zimmerman, of Lebanon, Harry W. “Butch” Brewer (Paula Lynn), of Fredericksburg, and Dale A. Brewer, of Jonestown; stepchildren, Kenneth Swope (Lisa), of Mount Gretna, Karl Swope (Susie), of Wernersville, David Swope (Kim), of Robesonia, and Lora Spitler (Kenneth), of Schaefferstown; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Terry Gromis, of Womelsdorf, Elvina Bulter, of Newmanstown, and Sandra Krall, of Womelsdorf.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Ethan Gromis.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, at 10 a.m. from Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 618. E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be in North Bellegrove Cemetery, Annville. There will be a viewing from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
