Lou H. Evans, 77, formerly of Hershey, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020, at the Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Mary Ann Brown Evans. They would have celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on April 21st.

Born in Myerstown on September 29, 1942, he was the son of the late Howard and Eva Saxman Evans. He enlisted in the U.S. Army when he was 17 years old and served from 1959 – 1965 in Germany. Lou retired from HERCO, after working for 35 years in the HVAC Dept. He was a member of the Ono United Methodist Church. Lou loved NASCAR, Hockey and Penn State football games. He loved watching Family Feud, America Says, Common Knowledge, Mash reruns and feeding and watching birds.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons David and his wife Suzy Evans of Grantville and Steve Evans and his companion Cindy Bates of Palmyra; the mother of his children, Freida Evans of Myerstown; step-daughters Lisa wife of James Lineweaver of Lebanon, Tina wife of Brad Echternach of Palmyra and Nicole Rudy of Myerstown; thirteen grandchildren, one great grandchild and his best little friend Toby.

He was preceded in death by his son Jeff Evans and sister Bernice Heagy.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ono United Methodist Church, 9 Main St., Ono. A time of visitation with the family, will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment, with military honors, will follow at the Salem Evangelical Cemetery.
