Louise G. Halsell, 91, of Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023, at Cedar Haven. She was the wife of the late Chester H. Halsell who passed away in 1990.
Born in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Albert W. and Florentine J. (Work) Gurnee.
Louise worked as a seamstress for Dutch Miss for many years and later worked as a baker and packer for Debbie Jo Bakery. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, and traveling. Louise loved ice cream, especially banana splits, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Bunker Hill E.C. Church for over 60 years.
Louise is survived by two children, Cathy S. Harmon, of Lebanon, and Larry L. Halsell, and wife, Darlene, of Wernersville; six grandchildren, Toni, Marc, Justin, Aimee, Casey, and Abcde “Abby”; a number of great-grandchildren; one brother, Albert Gurnee, and wife, Bertha; and two sisters, Shirley Parham and Jacqueline Brauer.
Louise was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene A. Halsell, in 2022.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023, at 11 a.m. from Kreamer Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will follow in Grand View Memorial Park. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of her service at the funeral home.
