Lucille J. Kreiser, 85, of Jonestown, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Lebanon Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was the wife of the late Donald C. Kreiser.
Born in Lebanon on Sept. 17, 1940, she was the daughter of the late George and Sarah (Arnold) Zimmerman. Lucille enjoyed working with flowers, feeding her neighbors’ animals, crafting, tea, ice cream, and baking. She made an amazing shoo-fly pie and will be remembered for her world-class raisin-filled cookies. Her husband always said that she was the “woman,” and she loved taking care of him.
Lucille is survived by her sons, Dennis C., husband of Kathi Kreiser, of Jonestown, and Thomas J., husband of Diane Kreiser, of Lebanon; daughter, Joanne M. Vedder, of Bernville; grandchildren, Dale Kreiser, Jennifer (Andrew) Yeagley, Daniel (Brittany Rodriguez) Kreiser, Donald Vedder, and Logan Vedder; great-grandchildren, Sheldon and Ava Yeagley; brothers, Robert (Joanne) Zimmerman, Edwin Zimmerman, and Alfred “Jimmy” (Debra) Zimmerman; and sisters, Margaret (Donald) McGarvey, Shirley Feeg, Christine Snyder, Judy (Donald) Crumley, Rose (Russell) Swisher, and Barbara (William) Peiffer.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Kenneth Vedder; sister, Dorothy Rasp; half-brother, Charles Steckbeck; and half-sister, Louise Steckbeck-Cikovic.
Memorial services will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. A visitation will be held beginning at 8 a.m. until the start of the service. Inurnment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
