Lucy R. Gilbert-Ott, 78, of Lebanon, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at her home. She was the wife of Paul A. Ott and the late Rodger L. Gilbert.

Born in Lebanon on Dec. 19, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Ammon R. and Edith E. Kreiser Long.

Lucy always dreamed of being a nurse. In 1969, she attended the LPN class at the Lebanon Vo Tech Center. She worked very hard at that and went on to be an OR Scrub Tech for 38 years with the Good Samaritan Hospital and the Hershey Outpatient Surgical Center. It was her passion. Later, she became a pro-life advocate, organizing Jericho Marches in Lebanon and the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children Services at her church. She is now with Jesus in Heaven, and she couldn’t wait to get there! She was a member of the South Lebanon Community Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, John A. Gilbert, of Lebanon, and his children, Samantha and Tabitha, and Andrew L. Gilbert, of Lebanon, and his daughter, Sarah Gilbert, and her son, Garrett Waylon Miller; stepdaughters, Julia L. Ott, of Lancaster, and her children, Isaiah and Isabelle Tucker, Noelle and Natalia Shuey, and Marie E. Ott-Smith, and her husband, Corey, of Mt. Joy; and brother, William N. (Lorraine) Long, of Annville.

A graveside service will be held beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Friedens Memorial Park, N. Ramona Road, Myerstown.
