Marcene L. Sanger, 78, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Monday, Oct. 14, 2024, at Cedar Haven in Lebanon. She was the wife of Paul E. Sanger Jr.

Born in Mobile, AL, on July 5, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Jane Carey Dostich.

Marcene worked as a clerk for Lebanon Valley Livestock. She enjoyed oil painting, playing bingo, fishing, going to the beach, and eating seafood.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Stephen D., husband of Beth Sheffy, of Fredericksburg, Michael D. Sheffy, of Jonestown, and Paul E. Sanger III, and his wife, Michelle, of Jonestown; daughters, Tammi L. Hopkins, and her fiancé, Richard Roberts, of Ashland, VA, and Amanda J. Sanger, wife of the late Rodney Beamesderfer, of Fredericksburg; step-sons, Stacey, husband of Sara Sanger, of York Haven, Wayne E. Sanger, of Cleona, and Steve, husband of Jane Sanger, of Jonestown; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her grandsons, Joshua and Zachary Sanger.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Lebanon Township.
