Margaret B. “Margi” Hearson, 84, of Forest Hill, MD, formerly of Lebanon, PA, passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. She was the wife of Dr. Robert H. Hearson, to whom she would have been married for 64 years on June 10, 2025. The two were high school sweethearts from Newport, RI.
Born in Ames, IA, Margi was a daughter of the late Forrest and Alice (Eddy) Barnes. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene and practiced in six states for 40 years before her retirement. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Lebanon, where she served as an elder. Margi enjoyed traveling, being a master gardener, attending concerts, listening to classical music, and above all, spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Margi is survived by her daughters, Laura Hearson, of Bel Air, MD, Julie (John) Evans, of Naples, FL, and Patricia (David) Klepitch, of Port Deposit, MD; grandchildren, Noah (Kate) Evans, Micah Evans, Emma Klepitch, and Amanda Klepitch; and sister, Marian Barger.
Margi was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Hannah Evans, Corey Klepitch, and Jonah Evans; brothers, Arthur Barnes and Forrest Barnes; and sisters, Darlene Murry and Harriet Grinstead.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 1 p.m., at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 600 S. 12th St., Lebanon, PA 17042. Family will receive visitors at 12:30 p.m. prior to the 1 p.m. service, and a reception at the church will follow. Inurnment will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 3 p.m., at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA 17003.
Margi was a vibrant person who loved flowers, birds, and nature. For those in attendance, please feel free to dress in the colors of the season.
