Margaret B. “Peggy” LaFountain, 85, of Lebanon, passed away on Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, at her home. She was the wife of the late H. Wayne LaFountain.
Born in Lebanon on June 7, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Florence (Bomberger) Phillips. After 45 years of service, Margaret retired from the U.S. Personnel & Finance Office for PA at Fort Indiantown Gap. She also served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 18 years. She was a member of the United Zion Church of Lebanon. Margaret enjoyed baking, reading, and bowling.
She is survived by her son, Terence W., husband of Debra LaFountain, of Lebanon; daughter, Laurie L., wife of John A. Taormina, of The Woodlands, TX; sisters, Nancy L. Lane, Anne M. Lear, and Catherine N. Lear; grandchildren, Anthony, Francesca, James, and Jeremy; and great-grandchildren, Breana, Madison, Rylee, Grant, and Eli.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth R., Robert A., and John F. Phillips; and sisters, Barbara A. Huey, Jean E. Lineweaver, and Thelma M. Burkhammer.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, Oct. 27, 2025, at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Township.
