Margaret (Yaklich) Burris, 95, of Lebanon, passed away on May 14, 2025.
She was born in Cornwall in April 1930 to Frank and Margaret (Petruska) Yaklich. Margaret Burris was a 1948 graduate of Cornwall High School and a 1953 graduate of Syracuse University, where she earned a BFA in interior design.
Over the course of her life, she achieved many things. She was an interior designer, had her own TV show in the 50s, played and coached basketball, worked as an occupational therapist at the VA, teaching recovering veterans how to draw, volunteered with DVI, taught English as a second language, and baked for church bake sales. Her greatest achievement was being a mother to her six children.
She is survived by her sons, Eric and David; daughters, Ann, Mary, Susan, and Dana; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Edward; sister, Frances; and brother, Alfred.
A funeral mass for her will be on May 22, 2025, at 10 a.m., at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Lebanon. The burial will be private at the National Cemetery, Fort Indiantown Gap. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
