Maria Del Carmen Quiñones, 66, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, at home, surrounded by her family. She was born in San Sebastián, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Cristina Roman. She was a devoted homemaker.
Maria was a woman whose life was defined by love, resilience, and unwavering faith. She was a devoted daughter, a cherished sister, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and a treasured great-grandmother. To those fortunate enough to know her, she was so much more than family; she was Mama Maria and Titi Maria.
Maria had a heart that knew no limits. She was not only a mother to her own children but a mother figure to neighborhood children and countless nieces and nephews who found comfort, guidance, and unconditional love in her presence. Her home and her heart were always open.
A woman of remarkable strength and deep faith, Maria faced many years of illness with courage and grace. Through every trial, she never wavered in her faith. It was her anchor, her source of peace, and a reflection of the powerful spirit that carried her through life’s greatest challenges.
Maria leaves behind to celebrate her life, in addition to her mother, Cristina Roman, her beloved children, Danny Quinones, Jazmin Quinones, Linnette Quinones, and David Rivera; grandchildren, Danny Quinones Chambers, Danielle Quinones, Jailene Ortiz, Davonte Quinones, Destiny M. Martinez, D’Onthany N. Pabon-Quinones, Marius G. Davila, and Jazlin M. Rivera; great-grandchildren, Danny Quinones Chambers Jr., Nicholas Quinones, Savloar Satterthwaite-Chambers, Deana’lyn Quinones Chamber, Johnathan Ruiz, Anthony Martinez Jr., Amani Martinez, Adonias Martinez, D’Onthany N. Pabon Quinones Jr., and Elias G. Pabon-Quinones; siblings, Sonia Alers Goncalves, Ruth Alers, and Jose Alers; and many numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her dear sisters, Myrtha Roman and Sandra Alers, whom she now joins in eternal rest.
Maria Del Carmen Quiñones was a warrior, a woman who lived with purpose, loved without condition, and gave endlessly of herself. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the family she nurtured, and the love she leaves behind. Her strength lives endlessly, her faith endures, and her memory will forever be a guiding light.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
María del Carmen Quiñones, de 66 años y residente de Lebanon, falleció pacíficamente el jueves 12 de febrero de 2026 en su hogar, rodeada de su familia. Nació en San Sebastián, Puerto Rico, hija de Cristina Román. Fue una dedicada ama de casa.
María fue una mujer cuya vida se caracterizó por el amor, la resiliencia y una fe inquebrantable. Fue una hija devota, una hermana querida, una madre amorosa, una abuela orgullosa y una bisabuela muy querida. Para quienes tuvieron la fortuna de conocerla, era mucho más que familia; era Mamá María y Titi María.
María tenía un corazón inmenso. No solo fue madre para sus propios hijos, sino también una figura materna para los niños del vecindario y para innumerables sobrinos y sobrinas que encontraron consuelo, guía y amor incondicional en su presencia. Su hogar y su corazón siempre estuvieron abiertos.
Mujer de notable fortaleza y profunda fe, María enfrentó muchos años de enfermedad con valentía y gracia. A través de cada prueba, su fe nunca flaqueó. Fue su ancla, su fuente de paz y un reflejo del poderoso espíritu que la impulsó a superar los mayores desafíos de la vida.
María deja para celebrar su vida, además de a su madre, Cristina Román, a sus queridos hijos: Danny Quinones, Jazmín Quinones, Linnette Quinones, David Rivera; sus nietos: Danny Quinones Chambers, Danielle Quinones, Jailene Ortiz, Davonte Quinones, Destiny M. Martínez, D’Onthany N. Pabón-Quinones, Marius G. Dávila, Jazlin M. Rivera; sus bisnietos: Danny Quinones Chambers Jr., Nicholas Quinones, Savloar Satterthwaite-Chambers, Deana’lyn Quinones Chamber, Johnathan Ruiz, Anthony Martínez Jr., Amani Martínez, Adonias Martínez, D’Onthany N. Pabón-Quinones Jr., Elías G. Pabón-Quinones. También le sobreviven sus hermanos, Sonia Alers Gonçalves, Ruth Alers y José Alers, así como numerosos sobrinos y sobrinas.
Le precedieron en la muerte sus queridas hermanas, Myrtha Román y Sandra Alers, con quienes ahora comparte el descanso eterno.
María del Carmen Quiñones fue una guerrera, una mujer que vivió con propósito, amó sin condiciones y se entregó sin reservas. Aunque ya no está con nosotros, su legado perdura en las vidas que tocó, la familia que crió y el amor que deja. Su fuerza es eterna, su fe perdura y su recuerdo será por siempre una luz que nos guiará.
