Marian M. Deaven, 93, of Pine Grove, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2020, at the Hershey Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Clarence N. Deaven.
Born in Swatara Twp., on February 8, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Ruth Wenger Schamber. Marian was an active member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lickdale. For 25 years she was the S.S. teacher of the 5th & 6th grades and was also the Bible School teacher. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening, cooking, baking, and making jelly and pickles. She will be remembered by many in sharing of the fruits of her labor.
She is survived by her daughters Evelyn F. wife of Fred Stoner of Mechanicsburg and Janice E. wife of Edward Meyers of Hershey; brothers Harold Schamber of Fredericksburg and Eugene Schamber of Jonestown; sisters Pauline Zellers of Fredericksburg and Endora Miller of Harrisburg; grandchildren Michael and Leslie Stoner; great grandchildren Austin & Aubrey; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister Miriam Bordner.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 24, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Lickdale. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Jonestown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church’s building fund, @ 98 Fisher Ave., Jonestown, PA 17038.
