Marilyn Lou Morrissey, 85, of Lebanon, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021, at home. She was the wife of Gilbert D. Morrissey. They celebrated 67 years of marriage on Dec. 4.
Born in Jonestown, PA on Aug. 21, 1936, Marilyn was a daughter of the late Raymond and Bertha (Peiffer) Gettle.
She was a member of The Church of St. Cecilia. She was a Sunday school teacher for 43 years and a 4H leader. She enjoyed going to bible study, playing the organ, sewing, crocheting, walking, and gardening her flowers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In addition to her husband, Marilyn is survived by five children, Louanne Boltz, wife of Kevin, Thomas Morrissey, husband of Deborah, Ann Ebersole, wife of Jeff, Patrick Morrissey, husband of Amanda, and Maureen Eshima, wife of Yoshihiro; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a niece, Diane Wolfe, wife of Walter, and great-niece, Brittany.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Gettle.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 20 at St. Cecilia’s Church, 120 E. Lehman St., Lebanon, PA 17046. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery. A viewing will be held prior to Mass from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church.
