Marilynn Leininger Gerhart, 85, of Myerstown, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. She was the wife of Franklin E. Gerhart. On December 26th, they celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary.

Born in Bethel on October 7, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Ruth Wilhelm-Leininger. For most of her life, she worked in the garment industry. She retired from the flag factory in Womelsdorf. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family and friends. She was a member of many clubs and organizations throughout her life, where she met many friends and made cherished memories she spoke of often. She was loved by many for her character and her laugh.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her six children: Bonnie (Ralph) Bleistein, Rhonda (Mike) Houser, Rodney “Fritz” (Paula) Gerhart. Lisa (Mike) Carter, Cindy (Paul) Carter, Corey (Shela) Gerhart, as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a niece and nephew. She was preceded in death by her sister Betty Lou Hernley.

A private service will be held at a later time by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
