Mark L. Fortna Jr., 98, of Annville, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025, at The Lebanon Valley Home. He was the husband of his high school sweetheart, the late Marilyn G. (Grant) Fortna, who passed away in 2020. They were married for 72 years.

Mark was born in Lebanon on May 14, 1926, to the late Mark L. and Eva (Loose) Fortna. He was a bricklayer/mason for most of his work life. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran.

Mark was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lebanon, where he was a choir member for over 40 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #226. Mark participated in many activities and hobbies throughout his life journey. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, archery, and skiing. As a fisherman, he was a member of Susquehanna Fly Fishers and made his own lures. He was a Lebanon County champion archer. In his younger days, Mark was a gunsmith and a lifelong member of Steitztown Hunting Club.

He is survived by his son, Robert A. “Bob” Fortna (Sandy), of Annville; daughter, Nancy L. Dawson (Don Cassidy), of Coatesville; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild on the way.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Richard “Dick” Fortna and Lucille Stoddard.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday April 24, 2025, at 12:30 p.m., at Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be private. There will be a time of visitation with the family from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
