Mark Melchisedec Rissler, 13, of Myerstown, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Born at home in Myerstown, he was a son of Philip and Carolyn (Gorraiz) Rissler.
Mark loved LEGOs, hiking, swimming in the mountain lake, and spending time at the family cabin at Pine Grove Furnace State Park. Mark loved going to Sunday School and to Awana on Wednesdays. He missed his friends while in the hospital. Mark gave his heart to the Lord Jesus Christ and had been asking to be baptized. His request was granted before he passed.
In addition to his parents, Mark is survived by 12 older siblings: Grace, wife of Matthias Krueger, Faith, wife of Samuel King, Philip Rissler II, Andrew Rissler, and wife, Hayley, Matthew Rissler, and wife, Laura, John Rissler, and wife, Margaret, Hope, wife of Greg Fifer, Charity, wife of Matthew Wottrich, Peter Rissler, Paul Rissler, Luke Rissler, and Mercy Rissler; nine nieces and nephews: William, Emily, Edward and Sophie King, Griffin, Natalie and Bennett (Andrew and Hayley), Isabella Rissler (Matthew and Laura), and Eden Wottrich; and grandmother, Julia Gorraiz, and grandmother, Barbara Rissler.
Mark was preceded in death by grandfather, Victor Gorraiz, and grandfather, Ivan Rissler.
Mark was able to save the lives of seven individuals through Gift of Life organ donation.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 1, 2023, at 7 pm at Lebanon Valley Bible Church, 1482 Horseshoe Pike, Lebanon, PA 17042. Interment will be private. A viewing will be held from 4 pm until the time of his service at the church. The family requests that people wear cheerful colors as we celebrate Mark’s life.
