Marlene M. Yordy, 78, of Jonestown, passed away on Monday November 8, 2021, at Select Specialty hospital in Harrisburg. She was the wife of Ronald E. Yordy, of Jonestown. They had celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on September 15th.

Born in Annville on October 26, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Forrest H. and Mary S. (Reigel) Shuey. She was a graduate of Northern Lebanon High School with the class of 1961. She worked for years as a nurse’s aide in various nursing homes in the county. She was a member of the Salam Walmer’s Church. Marlene was an avid piano player, played a keyboard in a country band, enjoyed working with her flowers, gardening, tending to her Koi fishpond, family gatherings, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Gary L. Yordy, of Fredericksburg; daughter Gwen L. Howard, of Jonestown; brother Larry G. Shuey and his wife Lorraine, of E. Hanover Twp; sisters Mildred A. wife of Fred Donmoyer, of E. Hanover Twp and Karen F. wife of Dennis Grubb, of E. Hanover Twp.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Salem Walmer’s Church Coulter Rd, Jonestown, PA 17038. Interment will be in the church cemetery following the service. There will be no public visitation or viewing.
