On the evening of April 4, 2023, Marlin Shuey passed away due to complications from diabetes at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon. He was 68 years old.

Marlin was one of nine children born to Harold and Mabel Shuey of Annville.

Marlin was a man of many stories, some factual and others not so much. And he loved telling those stories over and over and over again.

He worked as a steelworker at Quaker Alloy in Myerstown for three decades and was respected for his hard work ethic and special skills.

When he wasn’t working, he loved camping with his family. He was a diehard NASCAR fan and a lover of Philadelphia sports teams, even when their seasons were sometimes hard to watch.

He also loved cars. Driving cars, working on cars, talking about cars, and, in his later age, attending car shows all over the region where he put his 1965 Fairlane and 1972 Chevelle on display.

But most of all, Marlin loved his wife and two girls. He was married to Gerry Shuey for more than 40 years, the love of his life and partner in everything he did. They had two daughters, Kelly Windle and Karen Shuey, who they encouraged to pursue their dreams and aspirations.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday starting at noon at Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. in Annville, followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Diabetes Association.
