Marlin R. Schollenberger, 85, of Myerstown, PA, died on Friday, July 17, 2026, at StoneRidge Poplar Run, Myerstown. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Hoch) Schollenberger, to whom he would have been married for 66 years on Sept. 10, 2026.
Born in Kempton, PA, on Nov. 30, 1940, he was a son of the late Leroy C. and Mabel E. (Kunkel) Schollenberger. Marlin was a 1958 graduate of Myerstown High School. He received an associate’s degree in Drafting and Design Technology from Penn State University. Marlin was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Myerstown. He worked as a development engineer at AMP Inc., Harrisburg, for 14 years, retiring in 1998. Marlin also worked at Bethlehem Steel for 20 years. He enjoyed walking, golfing, and woodworking.
In addition to his wife, Marlin is survived by his son, Scott, of Myerstown; granddaughter, Alexis, wife of Terrill Orr, of Lancaster; great-granddaughter, Abigail Orr; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas R. Schollenberger; granddaughter, Abigail Schollenberger; sister, Norma Jonathans; and brother, Roger Schollenberger.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 11 a.m., at Friedens Lutheran Church, 301 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, preceded by a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Inurnment will be private.
