Marshall Delmar Cook, 91, transitioned into eternal life on Saturday, October 23, 2021. He was born near Coatesville, PA to the late Marshall and Christine Cook.
After graduating from Coatesville High School, he served his country as an enlisted member of the United States Air Force, became a staff sergeant, and was a veteran of the Korean War. In 1958 he graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a degree in biology, later becoming certified in elementary education. He taught in the Cornwall-Lebanon School District in Ebenezer Elementary School, in Donaghmore and Quentin Elementary Schools until they closed, and at Cornwall Elementary School. Delmar coached North Lebanon Lions Club Biddy Basketball teams at the Lebanon YMCA for many years, and he served with Boy Scout Troop 40 of Annville Lutheran Church for many years. He was a member of Annville Church of the Brethren, the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, and the Lebanon County Educational Honor Society.
Delmar is survived by Mary Cook, his wife of 56 years, daughters Katrina Bailey (John), Andrea Lown (Richard), and grandchildren, Ryan and Lauren Bailey and Emma and Ethan Lown. Also, siblings Cordelia MacArthur, Charlotte Ward, and Corinne Bailiff. He was predeceased by his parents, an older brother, Edwin Cook, and a sister, Margaret, who died in infancy.
Memorial services and interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with military honors. Pastor Paul Liepelt will officiate.
