Martha L. Peiffer, 92, of Lebanon, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, at her residence. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ammon K. Peiffer Sr.

Born in Lebanon, PA, on Nov. 22, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Oscar K. and Eva (Laudermilch) Kreider.

Martha was a member of Lebanon Valley Bible Church. She enjoyed being outdoors, flower gardening, and mowing the lawn. Feeding the birds and watching them made her happy and kept her busy. When indoors, she liked working in her kitchen. Baking, canning, and candy-making brought her joy. Opera fudge was one of her specialties. She recently taught several of her granddaughters and family members how to make opera fudge. They will carry on her legacy. She was employed at Laudermilch’s in Annville for more than 21 years. Her last day of employment was Jan. 9, 2025. On Saturday mornings, she volunteered at the Blessings of Hope food bank in Leola.

Her courageous battle with cancer lasted over 2.5 years. At the Sechler Cancer Center, she was affectionately known as “Miss Martha.”

Surviving are her children, Marilyn Tyson, wife of Robert, of Lebanon, Carolyn Koehler, of Lebanon, Kathleen Ziegler, wife of Lynn, of Schaefferstown, Donna Ziegler, wife of Leon, of Myerstown, Heidi Bingeman, wife of Barry, of Lebanon, Brenda Balmer, wife of Allen, of Lebanon, Lisa Ayers, wife of Dave, of Annville, and Ammon K. Peiffer Jr., husband of Brenda, of Lebanon; sisters, Erma Putt, of Lebanon, and Sarah Bensing, of Ephrata; 25 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her husband, Martha was preceded in death by six siblings.

A public viewing will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, from 6-8 p.m., at Lebanon Valley Bible Church, 1482 Horseshoe Pike, Lebanon, PA 17042. An additional public viewing will be held on Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, from 10-11 a.m., at the Church. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday. Interment will be held in Grand View Memorial Park.
