Marvin J. Shaak, 99, of Palmyra, PA, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024, at Londonderry Village. He was the widower of Jeanette R. (Balsbaugh) Shaak, who died on March 6, 2013.

Born in Jackson Township, PA, on May 31, 1925, he was the son of the late Allen and Anna (Smith) Shaak.

A 1943 graduate of Myerstown High School, he was employed by Sterling Drug Co., Myerstown, as a senior materials handler for 22 years, retiring in 1987. Prior to Sterling Drug, Marvin was a dairy farmer in Jackson Township for many years.

He was a member of St. Paul’s U.C.C., Newmanstown, and a member of the Goodwill Fire Co., Myerstown. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Marvin is survived by his daughter, Denise J. Weaver, of Myerstown; son, Dennis M. Shaak, husband of  Martha J., of Palmyra; two granddaughters, Rachel E. Shaak, of Honolulu, HI, and Tara L. Hoy, of Myerstown; grandson, Thomas L. Hoy, of Chambersburg; and two great-grandchildren, Joshua and Sadie Leong.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s UCC, 13 Church Road, Newmanstown, PA 17073. Interment will follow at the Millbach Cemetery.
