Mary Alice Geesaman, 99, of Londonderry Village, Palmyra passed away on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021, at the Village.

Born Nov. 7, 1922, in Hoernerstown, she was a daughter of the late Samuel B. and Mary L. (Kline) Shiffler. 

She was the widow, after almost 72 years of marriage, of Mahlon H. Geesaman, since April 2019, and was also preceded in death by brothers, Melvin Shiffler and Carroll Shiffler, and sister, Eleanor Oellig.

She was an active lifetime member and life deacon of Hanoverdale Church of the Brethren, where she was involved in children’s ministry programs, women’s fellowship, and the knitting circle. Mary Alice loved gardening, sewing, and caring for her family.  

Surviving is her son, Stephen Geesaman (wife Patricia), of Annville; daughter, Mary Lynn Kautz (widow of Gregg), of Middletown; grandchildren, Stephen Geesaman, Jr. (wife Beatrice), and Heather Smith (husband Joshua); and eight great-grandchildren.  

Private interment in Hanoverdale Cemetery, Hummelstown.
