Mary Ann Grumbein, 84, of Palmyra, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, at her residence. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of over 61 years, Gary L. Grumbein.

Born in Hershey, PA, on Dec. 21, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Elmer E. Greenawalt Sr. and Florence (Hartman) Greenawalt.

Mary Ann was a graduate of Palmyra High School in the Class of 1957. She went on to earn her nursing diploma at Reading Hospital in the Class of 1961.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, is two children, Melissa Grumbein, wife of Michael Long, of Annville, and Jeremy Grumbein, husband of Nicole, of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, William Grumbein, Gary Long, Jarred Grumbein, and Byron Grumbein; and a great-granddaughter, Cora Grumbein.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her son, Timothy E. Grumbein; and two brothers, Elmer E. Greenawalt Jr. and Charles Greenawalt.

A private interment will take place at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Palm Lutheran Church, 11 W. Cherry St., Palmyra, PA 17078, in her memory.
