Mary J. Hower, 82, of Bethel, died on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, at Highlands Healthcare and Rehab, Laporte, PA. Mary spent the past 12 years living with her daughter, Lisa, where they enjoyed lots of love, laughter, and the beauty of Tioga County.

Born in Fredericksburg, PA, on Sept. 9, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Charles A. and Elsie (Binner) Wagner. Mary was a member of St. John’s Church, Mount Aetna. She was employed as a nurse’s aide at Manor Care, Lebanon, for 30-plus years.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Lisa Hower Hunter, of Elkland, PA; sons, Michael A. Hower, of Bethel, and Leroy C., husband of Lara Hower, of Lebanon; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Edna Bashore; and brother, Rev. Barry C. Wagner.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, at 4 p.m., at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, preceded by a visitation beginning at 3 p.m. Inurnment will be private.
