Mary L. Darkes, 90, of Lebanon, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024, at Cedar Haven Healthcare Center.

Born in Paterson, NJ, on Sept. 18, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Mary E. (Moran) Trautman.

Mary graduated from Lebanon High School with the Class of 1951. She worked in the kitchen at Cedar Haven until she retired and then worked as a cashier at Zweier’s Market for 24 years. She played the piano, enjoyed walking, watching the Phillies, Miami Dolphins, and college sports on TV, crocheting, doing puzzles, and traveling. Most of all, she enjoyed her time with her family and was the life of the party.

She is survived by her son, James, husband of Annette Darkes, of Jonestown; daughters, Susan Conti, of Orange Park, FL, and Barbara A. Darkes, of Camp Hill; grandchildren, Lauren Gregg, Kaitlin Feldenzer, Jessica Kreider, Julia Krall, and Steven Krall Jr.; four great-grandchildren; and brother, David Trautman, of Stuart, FL.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jennifer Burnett; and brothers, Thomas and John Trautman.

Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family.
