Mary M. Hitz, 79, of Lebanon, passed away on Monday, Feb. 1, 2021, at WellSpan GSH-Lebanon. She was the wife of the late Gene A. Hitz.
Born in Lykens on Jan. 5, 1942, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna Charney Schminck. Mary enjoyed dirt track racing and racing at Penn National. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening, and, especially, spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey M. Hitz, of Lebanon, Gregory A., husband of Lorie Hitz, of Lebanon, and Brian S. Hitz, of Bethany Beach, DE, her daughter, Valerie P. Hitz, of Lebanon, her six grandchildren, and her three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jim and Richard Schminck, and her sister, Barbara Miller.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 & Camp Meeting Rd., Jonestown. A visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service.
