Matthew C. Miller, 49, of Lebanon, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022, at the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was the husband of Regina T. Worley Miller. On January 3rd, they would have celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary.
Born in West Islip, NY, he was the son of the late Jean Brymer.
Matthew served in the U.S. Army for more than 30 years, culminating in his service as a decorated Master Sergeant, with four deployments throughout his career. He was also a dual-status Federal Technician with the Department of Defense. He loved his Country and had been a member of the Jonestown American Legion Post #910.
Matthew was a history buff and enjoyed gaming in addition to his new hobby of collecting cigars, where he was a self-proclaimed cigar aficionado. He enjoyed exploring new whiskey options with his wife and friends, whether it was based on a recommendation, or he would hear about one in a favorite TV series like Peaky Blinders or Outlander. He enjoyed entertaining and was the “Host with Most.” He loved teaching not only his children but the neighborhood children to bake and the joy of giving to friends and family. Matt was a family man and loved nothing more than squeezing everyone in on the couch and watching a space drama, superhero, or rom-com flick on the TV.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Matthew B. L. Miller at home; daughter Rachelle T. Benfer of Lebanon; brothers Chris Miller of Phoenix, AZ, and William Miller of Milford, OR; sisters Patricia Capruso of Milford, PA, and Lia Miller of Pittsburgh, PA; and his step-father Charles Vaught of Pittsburgh, PA.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at the Arrowheads Bar & Grill, 9-65 Fisher Ave., Indiantown Gap. The funeral procession will leave at 3:00 p.m. from the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown.
